Gorilla Club Teams

THE GORILLA LAX CLUB EXPERIENCE

Below is a summary of the comprehensive training that each Gorilla player receives during a season which runs from September through July.

GENERAL OVERVIEW
Gorilla Lax will field two teams at each age level to accommodate players from two geographical regions - Metro and North. Weekly training sessions are scheduled at a Metro (i.e. Newton, Wellesley, etc) and a North (i.e. North Andover, Haverhill, etc.) location. Players assigned to a Metro team are expected to attend training at the Metro site, while North players are expected to attend training at the North site. During the summer season, a “combined” session will be held weekly at a neutral site (e.g. Billerica, Lexington, etc.) for both North and Metro teams. However, Gorilla players from either team are welcome to attend both North and Metro sessions if their schedules allow.

Additionally, there will be an opportunity to be placed on an elite team which will include participation in regional and national tournaments. Previously, the Gorilla 2021 team traveled to Delaware and captured a title at the Liberty National Elite Tournament so we look forward to our teams continuing to shine on the national stage.

THE HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE

Gorilla Lax offers players currently in high school (2025 - 2022) with the following resources and opportunities to help them navigate four years of challenges both on the field and in the classroom.

COLLEGE SEMINARS
Led by our academic advisors and counselors, our players will take part in a series of college seminars that will educate our players and their families about how to prepare, pay and apply to colleges. The selection and application process is arduous, so we are providing our Gorilla families with access to the resources that they will need.

FALL COLLEGE ROAD TRIP
During the fall months, we have taken a group of Gorilla players on a three-day road trip where we visit local colleges, take campus and athletic facility tours, meet with admissions officers, speak with coaches and compete in tournaments or games on campus. A recent Connecticut road trip featured stops at Wesleyan University and Yale University.

RECRUITMENT SEMINARS
Legendary Hall of Fame Coach Ted Garber has been part of the Gorilla family since 2017 and assists our players with all the aspects of the school recruitment process. Coach Garber works with our high school aged players who are interested in playing in college. In addition to leading seminars about the college recruiting process, Coach Garber also frequently works directly with Gorilla players by breaking down game film in the fall and helping to guide our players on the best fit for their collegiate goals.
